Everybody at Hawthorne University knows Y/N—the All-American volleyball star whose face is plastered across the athletic center. Everybody except Miles Bennett. They meet at two in the morning when Y/N is hiding in the engineering building, overwhelmed by the pressure of volleyball, fame, and everyone constantly expecting something from her. Miles, a robotics major with taped-up glasses and zero knowledge of college sports, only cares that she’s blocking an outlet. Y/N keeps coming back. Soon, late nights in the engineering lab turn into friendship, stolen snacks, combat robots, and the one place Y/N can be herself instead of Hawthorne’s star athlete. Then friendship becomes something more. But once Miles realizes exactly who Y/N is, her very public world makes him question whether someone like her could actually want someone like him.
