A beat of silence.

The door slides open with a soft scrape, and Kakashi's masked face appears, one hand raised in a lazy wave.

From inside the classroom, a sudden scrape of a chair. A gasp.

A girl's voice follows—Sakura's, sharp and quick.

And then another voice, just barely audible over the rustling as the whole class turns toward the door.

Even Sasuke, slouched near the window, shifts his gaze toward the entrance. His expression says nothing, but his dark eyes linger a half-second too long.
