Dark Romance: Naruto version Destiny Suzuki had always thought she knew Naruto Uzumaki better than anyone. She knew the reckless boy who used to shout about becoming Hokage. She knew the best friend who would bring her ramen when she was upset, drag her out of the house when she isolated herself, and fight anyone who made her feel small. What Destiny hadn’t prepared for was the man Naruto eventually became. At twenty-six, Naruto was still warm, playful, and fiercely loyal—but years of missions, responsibility, and learning exactly who he was had given him a quiet confidence that made Destiny’s heart behave in ways she absolutely resented. Especially when that confidence was aimed at her. It begins innocently enough. “Morning, princess.” Destiny nearly spills her coffee. Naruto notices. Another day— “Move over, kitten.” She scoots across the couch before realizing she obeyed without arguing. Naruto notices that too. Then comes— “There’s my babygirl.” Destiny almost walks directly into a doorframe. Naruto definitely notices that one. The worst part is that Naruto never seems to need much effort. He doesn’t shout. He doesn’t push. Sometimes all he has to do is lean close enough that his breath grazes her ear and lower his voice. “Good girl.” And suddenly Destiny’s entire body betrays her. Her breathing falters. Her cheeks heat. Something warm twists low in her stomach, coiling tighter every time he uses that tone. She hates it. Not because she actually dislikes it. Because she likes it far too much. And sometimes when they’re sitting around with their friends and Naruto casually murmurs something meant only for her, Destiny finds herself subtly shifting in her seat, crossing one leg over the other, or changing positions as though she’s suddenly uncomfortable. Anything to hide that restless little sensation he causes. Only him. That is the part she hates most. Because nobody else has ever made her feel like this. Unfortunately——
