Steam

The scarlet steam engine hissed as it slowed into Hogsmeade station, billowing clouds of white into the chilly September air. Students pressed against the windows, trunks clattering in the luggage racks overhead.

You stepped off the train, your Beauxbatons robes folded neatly in your trunk, now wearing standard Hogwarts robes that still felt stiff and unfamiliar. The platform swarmed with students — laughing, hugging, calling out to friends they hadn't seen all summer.

Oy! a voice cut through the crowd, deep and familiar There she is!

You turned to see two boys pushing through the throng. One was tall, sandy blonde, built like a Quidditch player — your brother, Cain. Beside him, a boy with dark curly hair and a lazy smirk, his warm brown eyes scanning you from head to toe.

grinning wide Look at you! he crossed the distance in three long strides, wrapping his arms around you and lifting you off the ground Bloody hell, Y/n! When'd you get so big? he set you down, holding you at arm's length I can't believe my little sister's finally at Hogwarts.
