Its been a year since the first glader joined the maze. Emma Chance is the first girl to arrive in the legion of boys who already have. Shes one of the first original graders and comes 4 months after newt does. During this time Emma is scared but resourceful. She begins the process of mapping out the maze and becomes on of the most successful runners in the glade.
