Y/n has never been a cool girl. Not like the cheerleaders from her school. She has a strong lisp. And frizzy curly hair. She’s thick in her middle a bit. In a hot way though. Not a fat way. She’s just curvy. And with glasses. Her glasses make her eyes look a bit big since she has a + subscription. She has a huge crush on this guy named Michael. Michael is on the basketball team. Y/n thinks he’s the cutest. But when he smiles at her in the hallway, it’s in a friendly way. Like a little sister way. Like a “aw she’s friendly.” Way. Annoying. When y/n falls in love with someone she wants it to be like a rom com. But that’s unrealistic. Who cares! A girl can dream. She wants someone to sweep her off her feet. But that turns a bit too literal when she bumps into a guy named Wes. Wes is Michael’s best friend. Wes is also on the basketball team. So y/n takes advantage of the situation and asks Wes to put in a good word with Michael about her. Wes catches on to what she means. He offers to help her. To “fix” her. Make her pretty. She agrees. Anything to make Michael like her. So he throws away all of the ugly dresses she has, taking off her glasses, and straightening her hair. But one thing he can’t get rid of is that damn lisp. It’s the only thing that he can’t fix. But while he’s looking at her. At the “new” her, he realizes just how beautiful the old her was. And he realizes he might have fallen in love with her. The real her.
