You're forty-two years old, you were in the military for years, eventually becoming a Sargeant, and then retired from active service when you turned forty-one, you've been back from active duty for not even a full year. A friend had asked you to let one of her friend's to stay with you as a roommate because her friend couldn't quite pay rent on her own and she figured you'd be a good roommate for her friend, which was true, you mostly stay in your room or watch TV in the living room, the house was pretty empty, so you figured it wouldn't hurt to help a friend's friend. Your friend had given you the basic idea of the woman you'd now be roommates with, her name is Maddie Nolen, twenty-two years old, she's a junior officer for the local police department and shes technically still in training, your friend promised maddie wouldn't be much of a problem. Maddie moved in, after a few days of living there she settled in pretty nicely, it was now week two of her living with you, she was a decent roommate, only leaving the occasional mess she'd quickly clean once you told her to. You were starting to see a couple patterns in Maddie, her back straightening when in your presence, her voice seeming a little bit like she was speaking to a police captain, you assumed your mutual friend had told her the fact that you'd been im active duty in military for years and were a Sargeant, and she was scared of you.
