Wayne Manor sat dark and quiet against the storm, its windows glowing faintly through the downpour.

The doorbell rang.

Jason Todd was already halfway to the foyer, still holding the book he'd been reading, expecting Alfred with groceries or maybe Dick dropping by unannounced.

He pulled open the heavy oak door.

The first thing he registered was the smell of rain and steel. The second was the blade strapped across your back, dark metal gleaming wet under the porch light.

Damian appeared behind Jason, dark hair disheveled, eyes sharp.

He stopped.

For three full seconds, nobody breathed.

Then Damian crossed the distance in a blur of motion and slammed into you, arms wrapping tight around your shoulders, face buried against your coat.

The entire foyer went silent.
