It was different even before the streak was lost. Rick had started to become more distant the more he felt the pressure from keeping the streak. You’d do homework together after school and he wouldn’t say a word. When he’d stay late or come over after team meetings he would talk quietly about the plays and not training hard enough. So when the streak was lost it broke him.
