murmurs, eyes still closed Finn, can you grab my phone?

The name hung in the air. Unmistakable. Too loud for a quiet morning.

Tyler

goes still, then slowly lifts his head ...What did you just call me?

Claire's eyes snapped open. She blinked at him, the sleep fog clearing fast, a flush creeping up her neck.

Claire

quickly What? I didn't— I said Ty. I said Ty, babe.

Tyler

stares at her, jaw tight No. You said Finn. You said Finn like it was my name.

He pulled his arm back, sitting up against the headboard. The sheet pooled at his lap. His face was unreadable, but his voice had gone flat.
