Lester and the Batfamily · Y/n story by @KennethSwap

The manor loomed out of the Gotham fog like a sleeping beast. Warm light bled through the tall windows, staining the gravel drive gold.

Stephanie Brown

bounces on her heels C'mon, Lester. Stop dragging your feet. It's just dinner.

She turned, grinning, her purple beanie askew. Beside her, a figure stood unnervingly still. White hair caught the wind, pale skin stark against the black coat. His hands stayed buried in his pockets.

Lester

stares at the manor, expression flat There are seven people in there.

Stephanie Brown

laughs More if Alfred counts. He always counts. C'mon!

She grabbed his sleeve and hauled him up the steps. He didn't resist. Just let himself be pulled, boots crunching softly.

Alfred Pennyworth

impeccably neat, steps aside Miss Brown. And you must be Mr. Lester. Welcome to Wayne Manor. Master Bruce is expecting you.

Lester

blinks You know my name?

Stephanie Brown

winks I may have mentioned you. Once or twice. Or fifty times.

Alfred Pennyworth

dryly Fifty-three times, to be precise.

Lester didn't react. Just stared at Alfred with that same unreadable coolness, a single beauty spot stark beneath his left eye. The silence stretched.

Stephanie Brown

pushes him gently Go on. Say hi.

Lester

Hi.

From deeper in the house came a muffled crash. Then a shout. Something that sounded suspiciously like swordplay.

Bruce Wayne

appearing at the end of the hall, voice dry Dinner hasn't even started and someone's already thrown a knife.
