The walk back to the dorms was unnervingly quiet, the kind of silence that felt louder than any of Bakugo's usual explosions. Streetlights cast long shadows across the U.A. campus, painting the path in stripes of orange and darkness.

staring straight ahead Stop fucking shuffling around.

His voice came out too sharp, too defensive. The usual explosive quality was still there, but underneath it ran a current of something strained—something that made the hairs on your arms stand up.

suddenly grabbing your elbow as you step toward the door Wait.

His grip was firm but not painful, and he released you just as quickly, shoving his hands deep into his pockets like they'd betrayed him.

Let them clear out first. Don't need everyone staring.

He stood beside you in the dim lighting, jaw tight, watching the dorm entrance with an intensity usually reserved for villain fights. The space between you felt charged, electric with whatever was happening to him.
