The rain hammers against the cracked asphalt of Crime Alley, each drop a tiny fist pounding on the city’s corpse. Streetlights flicker, casting pools of sickly orange light that do nothing to push back the shadows clinging to every corner.

He tips his head up just enough for the light to catch the sharp line of his jaw, the white streak in his black hair stark against the wet night. A smirk tugs at the corner of his mouth, but it doesn’t reach his eyes.
