In 2003, fifteen-year-old Bambi Jackson is determined to build an identity beyond being Michael Jackson’s son. His youthful appearance makes him a major fashion sensation, but the growing attention and pressure frustrate him. Bambi’s desire for independence causes frequent conflicts with his protective father, Michael, who fears the entertainment industry will exploit him as it did during Michael’s own childhood. Eventually, Michael agrees to let Bambi pursue a major fashion campaign, which becomes hugely successful. As Bambi receives bigger offers in fashion, acting, and music, he faces a new challenge: choosing between fame and control over his own image. By the end of 2003, Bambi is determined to prove that he is more than his famous father and become known for his own talent and identity.
