Madilyn “Maddie” is 21 and has always been the kind of person people form opinions on before speaking to her properly. She grew up in a wealthy, well-connected family where appearances and reputation mattered quietly in the background of everything. She was loud, impulsive, emotional, and difficult to manage as a teenager, which eventually led to her being sent to boarding school after repeated behavioural problems. She was never dangerous, just stubborn, restless, and unwilling to behave the way people expected her to. Boarding school only made her more independent and more comfortable relying on herself socially. She learned how to survive unfamiliar environments quickly and became very good at making people like her without necessarily letting them know her deeply.
