Talari’s mother was born into the Metkayina clan. After she mated with Talari’s father, she left her home to live among the Omaticaya a few years after Talari was born. After Talari's family moved to the Omaticaya clan, Tsu'ti—Alira's brother—stayed behind with the Metkayina. Although Talari returned to live among the Metkayina, her parents and brother remained with the Omaticaya clan.
