A few late-night stragglers are making their way down the slushy lane, their laughter muffled by the thick, falling snow. Inside, through the frosted windows, golden light spills out in hazy squares onto the cobblestones.

Theodore steps aside, and the scene within unfolds. The pub is crowded and loud, full of older students and a few adults. Near the fireplace, a group is singing off-key. And there, crammed into a booth at the very back, are Lorenzo Berkshire, Blaise Zabini, and Draco Malfoy. They’re leaning in, listening to something—or someone—with varying degrees of exasperated fondness.
