{y/n} is failing. Not in the dramatic, inspirational “she just needs someone to believe in her” way. She simply has a worrying number of knowledge gaps for someone who is expected to graduate soon. So Rowan Mercer assigns Nick, the school’s annoyingly competent student body president, to tutor her. Every day. What begins as academic damage control becomes late afternoons, study sessions, snacks, arguments, and eventually an actual friendship. Unfortunately, {y/n} already has a boyfriend. And Nick happens to be his friend. Then there’s Dr. Vesper Hale, a teacher who has decided {y/n} is a lost cause and seems determined to make everyone else think so too. Between exams, friendships, first love, breakups, and one increasingly complicated tutoring arrangement, senior year is going about as well as you would expect. Which is to say, not very.
