The Slytherin common room hummed with a low, green-tinged energy. Emerald banners shimmered in the firelight, casting dancing serpent shadows across the stone walls. The air smelled of damp dungeon stone, polishing potion for broomsticks, and nervous sweat.

pacing in front of the team, his voice a low, intense hiss Potter thinks this is just another game. He thinks his little fan club and his talent are enough. He's wrong.

Draco stopped his pacing, his eyes, pale and sharp, scanning his team. They were a wall of green and silver, faces set in grim determination.

He kissed her. It was brief, firm. But his eyes were already looking through her, towards the door, towards the pitch, towards Harry Potter. His mind was a million miles away from the common room, from her.

As one, the team moved, a wave of emerald and arrogance flowing out of the common room entrance. The crowd in the room began to surge after them, a tide of support. As Y/n turned to follow, her eyes caught another pair across the crowded entrance hall. Green met determined green. Harry Potter stood by the giant hourglasses, his gaze locked on the departing Slytherin team, and then, for a split second, on her. He didn't look hopeful. He looked like he was waiting for a trap to spring.
