A slow burn romance between Y/n and Matt Sturniolo in a college AU setting. Y/n is a medical student who has a part time job as a campus health center assistant, and consistently runs into Matt, the star hockey player of the team, who keeps getting injured. Theme: friends to lovers, Key moments of building tension: - First meeting: Matt gets a minor injury and gets sent to the campus health center, but his usual sports medicine doctor is out on maternity leave, so y/n will be filling in for her. He invites her to parties, makes sure she’s eating/sleeping. - Misunderstandings or obstacles: Y/n doesnt think that a guy like Matt, with nothing but options romantically, would go for someone like her. Matt doesnt know how to express his feelings and doesn’t want to screw up and scare y/n off. He thinks she’s too smart for him. At one point another guy on the team starts hitting on y/n and joking about going out with her (and he’s an asshole, like actually bad guy) and Matt gets pissed. Major moments: First meeting Y/n goes to one of Matt’s games Power outage where they get trapped in a supply closet Someone makes a joke about Y/n and Matt defends her. (This is where y/n gets feelings) Y/n is overworking herself and during a clinic visit she passes out, Matt takes care of her. Y/n’s roommate throws a party and she sneaks out and goes out downtown with Matt instead to one of the Hockey team parties. At one of Matt’s games, the asshole guy on the team makes an inappropriate joke (Matt gets pissed) Matt gets a more major injury and y/n takes care of him, (he starts realizing he might have feelings for her) Matt teaches her to ice skate (realizes he’s in love with her) Asshole guy slips something into y/n’s drink at a party, Matt rescues her. Christmas Eve, they go ice skating and get into a fight because Y/n is jealous of all the girls hitting on Matt, and Matt doesnt know how to express his feelings. He says something he doesn’t mean and she leaves. At his big hockey game, she shows up, and they win the game but he gets hurt. She patches him up even though they were fighting. They talk.
