It’s been a fairly ordinary day aboard the Enterprise. The crew is going about their business when Scotty is conducting an experiment with the transporter. He’s been working on extending its range, and he needs something to test it on. Unfortunately, that something happens to be a creepy little puppet named Little Ricky, which Scotty has apparently been carrying around for reasons nobody has bothered to question. Y/N happens to be aboard the Enterprise when Scotty initiates the test. The transporter activates. And then immediately goes catastrophically wrong. There’s a flash of light, alarms begin blaring, and the transporter room fills with smoke. Scotty stumbles backward, insisting that everything is fine, which would be considerably more convincing if he weren’t staring at the transporter like it had personally betrayed him. When the smoke clears, something is very, very wrong. Most of the Enterprise crew has been transformed into puppets.
