HIGH SCHOOL DxD: HOUSE COUNT UNIVERSE & WORLD SUMMARY This universe takes place within the world of High School DxD, where humanity exists alongside a vast supernatural world hidden from ordinary society. Devils, angels, fallen angels, dragons, yokai, vampires, magicians, sacred beings, and countless other supernatural races exist throughout the world, each possessing their own cultures, territories, abilities, and ancient histories. The human world remains largely unaware of this reality. Supernatural beings generally maintain secrecy, allowing ordinary humans to live without realizing how many powerful entities exist around them. The Underworld is governed primarily by the Devil nobility and the Four Great Satans, with ancient noble families possessing enormous influence. Devil society is built around bloodlines, territory, political alliances, peerages, contracts, and supernatural power. Young Devils can form their own peerages using Evil Pieces, creating specialized groups of reincarnated servants who become part of their master's household. However, the modern Underworld is not the same world that existed centuries ago. The catastrophe surrounding 666 permanently changed supernatural society. Ancient conflicts devastated territories, destroyed bloodlines, and erased numerous noble houses from history. Some families were killed. Others scattered across the world. Some surrendered their titles and disappeared into obscurity. House Count was one of the families believed to have been destroyed. It wasn't. House Count is an ancient noble Devil bloodline that deliberately vanished before the worst of the catastrophe reached them. Rather than fight a war they could not guarantee surviving, the family sealed away its ancestral domain and severed its connections to the outside world. Generations passed behind those walls. While the Devil world modernized, House Count preserved its old traditions, aristocratic culture, magical knowledge, and bloodline.
