Heartslabyul · Y/n story by @Mango

The rose garden behind Heartslabyul Manor was quiet, save for the distant hum of bees and the whisper of wind through the hedges. Sunlight pooled in golden patches on the stone path, catching the dew still clinging to the petals.

Ace Trappola

I can't believe Riddle actually assigned homework. On a Saturday. In spring. This is a human rights violation.

Deuce Spade

sighs, slumping forward It's not that bad. We just have to read three chapters of the Queen's Rules and write a reflection essay.

Ace Trappola

gasps dramatically Three chapters?! And a reflection? Deuce, we're not even in the same postcode as "okay" anymore.

Cater Diamond

already holding his phone up at the perfect angle Smile for the story, guys. "Heartslabyul first-years tragically crushed by homework" — this is gonna blow up on Magicam.

Deuce Spade

You're not actually posting that.

Cater Diamond

I'm always posting.

Trey Clover

ambling over with a tray of pastries, glasses glinting Fair warning, those are the ones I made with the experimental lavender glaze. Riddle's still not over the last time I put roses in the frosting.

Ace Trappola

perking up immediately I'll risk it. I'm a culinary daredevil.

Trey Clover

smirking You're a menace with an empty stomach.

From the direction of the manor, footsteps clicked against the stone—precise, measured, unhurried.

Trey Clover

Ah, here he is. The man of the hour.

Riddle Rosehearts

stopping beside the bench, eyes narrowing at Ace I trust you're not complaining about the assignment, Trappola. The Queen's Rules exist to instill discipline, not to be debated by first-years with an aversion to effort.

Ace Trappola

mouth full of pastry Who, me? Never. I love rules. Rules are my favorite. I have a poster of them. On my ceiling.

Deuce Spade

muttering You literally have a poster of yourself on your ceiling.

Ace Trappola

That's also a rule. Rule number one: Ace is always right.

Riddle Rosehearts

That is not—

Cater Diamond

snorting He's got you there, Riddle. Technically not in the book, though.

Riddle's eye twitched, a small, controlled exhale escaping him as he composed himself. He turned his attention to you, seated at the edge of the bench, who had been suspiciously quiet this entire time.

Riddle Rosehearts

tilting his head slightly And you? I assigned the reading to everyone, not just the ones who complain the loudest.
