In June 1991, Y/N joins Kamogawa Boxing Gym with one goal: to become a professional boxer. Meanwhile, Kamogawa Gym is focused on its established fighters. Ippo Makunouchi is preparing to face Takuma Saeki in the featherweight bracket of the Class A Boxer Prize Money Tournament. Tatsuya Kimura is likewise competing in the tournament's lightweight bracket. Outside the gym, Ippo continues helping his mother run the Makunouchi Fishing Boat business, balancing his training with the responsibilities he carries at home. While the established boxers prepare for their upcoming matches, Y/N learns the fundamentals of boxing under Coach Kamogawa. Their immediate goal is to become skilled enough to pass the next Japan Boxing Commission professional boxing license examination at Kōrakuen Hall whenever it is announced, as only then can they begin a professional career. Until that day, every training session is another step toward proving they deserve a place at Kamogawa Gym.
