The lobby of The Palace Hotel glittered with polished marble and the low hum of discreet wealth. Bellboys in crisp uniforms stood at attention, but their eyes lingered a moment too long on the woman who had just entered. Arabella moved through the space like she owned it, her coat slipping from her shoulders to reveal a simple black dress that cost more than most people's monthly rent.

Serena practically floated across the marble floor, her golden hair catching the light. She wrapped Arabella in a tight embrace that smelled of expensive perfume and nostalgia.

Over Serena's shoulder, Arabella's eyes met a familiar icy gaze across the lobby. Blair Waldorf stood near the elevators, one perfectly manicured hand resting on her hip, a small, tight smile playing on her lips.
