Upon entering the GRID World for the first time, the player will be put into a Ravenwest Dodge Viper SRT-10 for a one-lap race in San Francisco - Grand Prix Circuit. The player has to finish this race in order to get the Rookie licences for the three regions: ARL (USA), Euro (Europe) and J-Speed (Japan). The player's finishing position here is irrelevant, but the chief engineer will comment on how the player did at the end of this race.
