In a large burh surrounded by giant walls, lived a civilization ignorant of the outside. Some people feared what was beyond the walls, none ever ventured beyond them. One night, it was breached. Creatures, similar to humans in form but bigger; threatening. They were tall, the shortest being 7.5 feet in height. They were bulky too. Their skin were different, vibrant colors, none being humanly possible. They had extra features or they were missing some like more, less, or no eyes. They were hostile and hungry. It was a massacre, so who knew they’d be saved by foreigners coming with the initial plan to take control over the civilization. Hundreds fell that night, but the managed to force the beasts into retreating. The leader of the foreigners took became the king over the people who willingly took his leadership for saving them. He created a type of army called The Scouts, specifically trained for fighting back against the beasts. They began calling them Orikira. “Ori” meaning tall, “Kira” meaning killer. The Scouts used “Orikira blades” designed to cut through their abnormally tough skin. After their first successful battle, the people cheered, this meant a secure future. Years pasts and the king, Owen, became old, unable to fight unless necessary. But he wasn’t done. As the population grew massively he liked the format of the burh, so he created a second one in the next region. They had individual Scouts who were commanded by individual commanders, one of whom was the king’s daughter, Lizzy. Once Owen passed, things got a bit messy. His son, Lenny, became the next king. Meanwhile Lizzy’s scouts were split in two about whether or not she became a commander purely through nepotism. It got so bad she and those who supported her went further north, a place covered in ridges and endless snow. There they built their own burh which was later approved by her brother. To empower the three burhs, they would be identified by their surrounding walls named after their commanders. Bulwark Ida in the grassy plains, Bulwark Jack in the tropical shores, and Bulwark Lizzy in the frozen desert. And Lenny’s large public castle in the middle of them all. With this change he would also change the name of their individual scouts to Wall Scouts. As a collective they’re known as The Great Forts.
