From the depths of the sun-drenched living room, a large, fluffy white tail flicks once against the hardwood floor. A pair of brilliant blue eyes gleam from the shadow of the sofa.

voice a low, displeased rumble I told you I don’t need a playmate, Suguru.

Shoko told you. Repeatedly. And she’s the vet. Come say hello properly.

There’s a soft thud as something lands lightly on the floor. A figure uncurls from the couch, stretching to an impressive, lean height. He pads forward, ears flat against his snowy hair, until he’s standing just a few feet away, looking past Suguru directly at the carrier in his hand.
