The sun was a dying ember on the horizon, staining the sky in bruised purples and bloody reds. The sea, usually a churning gray, had gone still and dark as oil.

Gojo Satoru

The song drifted across the glassy water, a wordless melody that wrapped around the mast and slithered into the ears. It was sorrow and honey and promise.
