Four years after surviving a brutal, near-fatal throat-slitting ambush by elusive serial killer and hacker Christopher Pelant, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Cameron Halstead receives a clandestine lead placing the fugitive in Southern California. Keeping his unsanctioned hunt entirely secret from both the Bureau and his brothers—Chicago ER doctor Will and CPD Intelligence detective Jay—Cameron confides only in Jack Hodgins before boarding a flight to Los Angeles. Walking straight into the Mid-Wilshire division, Cameron comes face-to-face with LAPD Sergeant Tim Bradford. Amidst the immediate, undeniable electric spark and mutual crushing that flares between them, Cameron's rogue pursuit threatens to drag the entire Mid-Wilshire squad and his fiercely protective family back into Pelant's lethal crosshairs.
