The moon hangs fat and full over the clearing, a silver disc casting the Great Rock and the gathered cats below in pale, ghostly light. The air is thick with the mingled scents of pine, damp earth, and the musk of many different Clans. Whispers and low murmurs ripple through the crowd like wind through grass.

River’Star

his voice, deep and calm, cuts through the murmurs The waters run clear. TideClan has no new grievances to bring before the Clans this moon.

Blazestar

her tone is a crackle of contained fire EmberClan thrives. The volcano sleeps, and our hunting grounds are plentiful.

A sleek, dark grey she-cat with eyes like chips of frost rises from the highest ledge. A respectful, tense silence falls.

Froststar

FrostClan endures. The cold strengthens us. We have… she pauses, her gaze sweeping the clearing… noted the increased activity of Twoleg monsters near the old thunderpath. A warning to all.

A low growl of agreement rumbles through the StormClan contingent. Before another leader can speak, a commotion stirs at the edge of the clearing near the BreezeClan cats. A small, orange-and-white apprentice is being firmly nudged back into place by a stern-faced golden tabby.

A few chuckles break the tension. From the StoneClan section, a tortoiseshell she-cat with intelligent eyes watches the exchange, her tail-tip twitching.

muttering to the grey warrior beside her Every gathering. It’s like watching a dandelion clock blow away in the wind.

whispers back At least it’s not another border dispute. My paws are still sore from the last one.

As the leaders continue their formal reports, Y/n’s attention is drawn to a solitary figure sitting a little apart from the main TideClan group. It’s Hollow’Wind, the thin, grey-furred tom from VerdantClan. He isn’t watching the Rock. Instead, his unsettling blue gaze is fixed on the shadows beneath the distant pine trees, as if he sees something no one else can.
