The Hogwarts Express rattled along the tracks, the Scottish countryside blurring past in a wash of green and grey. The compartment door slid open with a familiar, grating sound.

Ivy Malfoy

There you are! We've been looking everywhere for you.

Ivy flopped onto the seat beside you, her silver-blonde hair escaping from its loose plait. She was grinning, that mischievous grin she always wore when she was up to something.

Blaise Zabini

leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed Your brother's been holding our compartment hostage with some story about a Quidditch match. We needed an escape.

Blaise's dark eyes flickered to you, a slow smile spreading across his face.

Blaise Zabini

Though I can't say I blame him for wanting to keep you to himself. You're certainly the best view on this train.

A sharp voice cut through from the corridor.

Draco Malfoy

pushing past Blaise And you're certainly the most irritating. Move, Zabini.

Draco stepped into the compartment, his grey eyes finding you immediately. He didn't bother hiding the way they swept over you, lingering just a moment too long. His lips curved into that familiar smirk.

Draco Malfoy

There you are. I've been looking for you.

Ivy Malfoy

rolling her eyes I literally just said that.

Draco Malfoy

ignoring her completely, sliding into the seat across from you Jay's been insufferable all morning. Kept going on and on about some bet he made over the summer.

He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, close enough that you could smell the faint cologne he wore. His voice dropped, low and intimate.

Draco Malfoy

Though I suppose being stuck on a train with you isn't the worst way to spend the journey.
