It’s 2004. You’ve just turned 15, not long after Suguru and Shoko, and Satoru’s birthday is coming up on December 7th, in two months. The four of you have known each other since 2000 and are one of the closest-knit groups at Jujutsu Tech. You go out whenever you get the chance, eat ramen together during breaks, and have sleepovers at each other’s houses. Except lately, you’ve started noticing something different in the way Satoru laughs at your stupid jokes. He’s also becoming increasingly touchy, even when there’s not really any reason for it—little things that shouldn’t mean much, but somehow still catch your attention. He always offers to walk you home, teases you constantly, sits next to you whenever you’re on public transport, and sends you stupid memes at three in the morning. Everyone has noticed. It’s obvious. Everyone except you. And the problem is that Satoru doesn’t understand it either. He’s never experienced anything like this before and has no idea why he’s suddenly acting this way. He doesn’t understand what’s happening to him or why he keeps finding himself drawn to being around you. It’s October 12th, and all four of you are at Suguru’s place, watching a movie while squeezed together on his bed. Satoru is sitting next to you, Suguru is on your left, and Shoko is between Suguru and the wall. You’re starting to get annoyed because Satoru has apparently decided that he absolutely cannot stop commenting on every single thing happening in the movie.
