The Gryffindor common room was unusually quiet for a Saturday afternoon, most students either in Hogsmeade or studying in the library. You were curled in one of the plush armchairs by the fire, a Transfiguration textbook open but mostly ignored in your lap.

Well, well, look what we found, George.

A rare and beautiful creature, all alone by the fire.

Fred leaned against the back of your chair, his warmth seeping through the fabric. George dropped to crouch in front of you, resting his elbows on his knees, his freckled face split by a familiar, mischievous smile.

We've been looking for you.

George
