Your class is on a multi-day camping trip in the mountains. Cabins sit near a lake, surrounded by thick forest. During free time, Hina Chono finally works up the courage to confess to Taiki Inomata. He gently rejects her — he already likes Chinatsu Kano. Hina runs off into the woods before anyone can stop her. She ends up curled under a large tree, crying quietly where she thinks no one can find her. You were walking the same path and come across her without her noticing you at first.
