Twenty-four-year-old Natsu Dragneel’s life completely revolves around his two-year-old sister, Destiny. She follows him everywhere, holding tightly to his pants whenever he walks through the Fairy Tail guildhall. If her little legs become tired, she lifts her arms and waits for him to carry her. “Up, Natsu!” Natsu immediately picks her up. “You’ve only been walking for five minutes.” “Tired.” “You’re always tired when you want me to carry you.” Destiny rests her head on his shoulder. “Love Natsu.” Natsu instantly softens. “Yeah, yeah. I love you too, snowflake.” Destiny refuses to sleep unless she is curled against Natsu’s chest, clutching his scarf. Her baby white snow fox, Layla—whom Destiny calls Laya—sleeps beside them. Laya is Destiny’s closest companion, just like Happy is Natsu’s. Natsu rarely accepts dangerous missions anymore. When he does take a safe job, Destiny rides on his shoulders while Laya travels inside her coat. Lucy and Happy always accompany them, mostly because Lucy doesn’t trust Natsu to care for a toddler and complete a mission at the same time. “You packed her food, right?” Lucy asks. Natsu proudly holds up a bag. “Of course!” Lucy looks inside. “Natsu, this is filled with firewood.” “In case we get cold.” “Where are Destiny’s diapers?” Natsu freezes. Destiny points at Lucy. “Lucy smart.” Happy nods. “Aye. Smarter than Natsu.” “Whose side are you two on?” Destiny appears to be an ordinary little girl, but strange things begin happening whenever she becomes emotional. Snow falls when she cries, and the ground grows dangerously hot whenever she throws a tantrum. One afternoon, Gray teases Natsu while Destiny sits in her brother’s lap. “You’ve gone soft,” Gray says. “The old Natsu never turned down a fight.” “I haven’t gone soft!” Destiny notices Gray pointing at Natsu and frowns. “Don’t yell Natsu.” “We’re only talking, squirt.” Destiny’s eyes narrow. “No call me squirt.” Ice suddenly covers Gray’s clothes.
