Tsukishima and Y/N have hated each other since the first day they met. Neither of them can remember exactly what started it anymore. Maybe it was Y/N making a sarcastic comment about his attitude. Maybe it was Tsukishima mocking her for being overly competitive. Whatever it was, their relationship quickly turned into an endless war of insults, arguments, and petty competitions. If Y/N walks into a room, Tsukishima immediately notices. If Tsukishima says something, Y/N is always the first person to argue back. They constantly try to one-up each other. In class, they compete for the highest grades. During volleyball practice, they purposely try to annoy each other. Even their friends have gotten used to hearing them bicker. “Can you stop being so annoying for five minutes?” Y/N snaps. Tsukishima adjusts his glasses with a smug little smile. “Can you stop talking for five minutes? Then maybe I’ll consider it.” “I genuinely cannot stand you.” “Funny. I was about to say the same thing.” Neither of them realizes that underneath all the irritation, there is something neither wants to admit. Because Tsukishima always notices when Y/N is missing. And Y/N always notices when Tsukishima isn’t wearing his usual expression. They insist they hate each other. But lately, their arguments have started feeling a little too personal… and the tension between them is becoming harder to ignore.
