The rain came down in sheets, cold and relentless, soaking through to the bone. The ground beneath trembled—not from the storm, but from footsteps. Heavy, earth-shaking footsteps.

Pollux

You cannot simply go out there. The storm will swallow you whole, and then who will I have to argue with?

Ashen

Argue? I call it entertainment, dear Pollux. And I'd rather drown than sit in that hall another moment listening to you drone on about treaties.

Pollux

Drone? I negotiate. You just break things until they bend to your will.

The ground shook harder. A shadow filled the archway, blocking the torchlight. Ashen stepped out into the rain, his massive frame silhouetted against the storm. His long charcoal hair clung to his scarred face, ember eyes scanning the ground with barely contained energy.

His gaze locked onto something small. Something crumpled at the base of the steps, half-buried in mud. His lips curled into a sharp grin.

strides forward, each step cracking the stone beneath his feet

A massive hand reached down, fingers closing around the back of your shirt, hoisting you up like a stray kitten. Rain dripped from your hair as you were lifted to eye level with the towering king.

grins, teeth flashing Oh Pollux! I've found us something new to entertain us.

Behind him, a second figure emerged from the archway, silver hair catching the torchlight like spilled starlight. Pollux's sky-blue eyes studied you with a cold, measured curiosity.

tilting his head It's... small. And soaked.

Exactly. Perfect for a bit of amusement, don't you think?
