A few years after her father’s death, Abby never joins the WLF. The grief and anger are still there at first, but instead of dedicating herself to revenge, she leaves the remaining Fireflies behind and spends years drifting between settlements, taking whatever jobs keep her alive. Over time, the obsession fades into something quieter, and Abby slowly becomes someone softer than she would’ve been otherwise — still confident and stubborn, still intimidating at first glance, but warmer, easier to laugh, and desperate for something that actually feels like living instead of surviving.
