As you turned the corner toward the library, a pale hand shot out from a tapestry depicting trolls in tutus. It clamped around your wrist, cold and unyielding.

You were pulled, stumbling, through a slit in the stone wall you’d never noticed. The tapestry fell back into place, sealing you in darkness.

Then, light. A single, sickly green Lumos bloomed from a wand tip, illuminating Draco Malfoy’s sharp features. His back was to the only exit, a narrow archway now hidden behind stone.

The alcove was tiny, more a pocket in the castle’s bones than a room. The air was still and smelled of dust and damp wool. His free hand came up, palm flat against the wall by your head, caging you in.
