Y/N has been working as an attending physician at The Pitt for four years. By now, the emergency department feels almost like a second home—the endless alarms, crowded hallways, sleepless shifts, and the familiar faces of the staff have become part of her daily life. And then there is Dr. Robby. For nearly as long as she has worked there, Y/N has noticed him watching her. Sometimes it is only a brief glance from across the trauma bay. Sometimes she catches his eyes lingering on her while she is reviewing a chart, talking to a patient, or walking past the nurses' station. And every now and then, she realizes she has been doing exactly the same thing—watching him when she thinks he isn't looking. Neither of them has ever acknowledged it. Four years of stolen glances, quiet smiles, lingering looks, and almost-moments have passed between them, buried underneath twelve-hour shifts and the chaos of the emergency department. Everyone seems to notice except them—or at least, everyone pretends not to. But tonight, another brutal shift at The Pitt is about to begin, and for the first time, the line between professional familiarity and something much more personal may finally start to disappear.
