Y/N has a habit of getting caught out after curfew, and Professor Snape has a habit of assigning her detention for it. What begins as mutual irritation slowly becomes something neither of them expected. Because the more time Snape spends supervising Hogwarts’ most suspiciously cheerful repeat offender, the more he begins to realise that Y/N isn’t trying to escape detention. She’s trying to avoid going somewhere else. And when fifth year brings Umbridge, dangerous secrets, and more reckless adventures than Y/N can reasonably survive, Snape may find himself becoming far more involved than either of them intended.
