After losing her father, Jack Carr—a legendary surfer and her longtime coach—Andie Carr completely withdraws from surfing and the people around her. With her mother already gone, Andie feels like she has no family left and isolates herself from everyone. The only person she still lets close is her boyfriend, Baxter Radic, a talented competitive surfer. Baxter stays by her side without pressuring her to return to surfing. As Baxter continues competing with his sisters Elo and Wren and friends Ari, Bodhi, Poppy, and Marlon, Andie slowly finds herself being pulled back into the surfing world she abandoned. She must eventually decide whether surfing can become something she loves again—or whether it will always remind her of everything she’s lost.
