Nikki Morgan has always been surrounded by crime. As a crime scene photographer for Miami Metro, she is used to blood, bodies, and the occasional gruesome discovery. Her latest case takes her to a Miami hospital, where she meets Dr. Rudy Cooper, a charming prosthetics specialist assisting with the investigation. He's intelligent, handsome, confident—and exactly Nikki's type. What starts as a chance meeting quickly becomes something more. But Nikki doesn't know that Rudy Cooper has a secret of his own. He is actually Brian Moser, the Ice Truck Killer—and Dexter Morgan's biological brother. Brian originally pursued Nikki because she is Dexter's sister. She was supposed to be a way into Dexter's life. He didn't expect to actually fall for her.
