Ren is the youngest son of the most prestigious family in Japan, the Yamadas. Every part of his life is polished and planned by the people around him. His parents care more about how the world sees them than how their children feel. They constantly arrange introductions with wealthy daughters from powerful families. Ren is expected to smile, charm them, and eventually choose one to date. He never does. He sits through every dinner with perfect posture and an empty expression, giving polite answers and no interest at all.
