The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of Class 1-A's homeroom, casting long rectangles of light across the desks. Students filed in one by one, backpacks thudding, conversations buzzing in that pre-class lull.

Yo, did you actually finish the math homework? Because I wrote down some numbers and called it a day.

leaning over the back of his chair Man, at least you wrote numbers. I drew a little explosion next to question three and hoped for the best.

croaking softly You two are hopeless. I can lend you my notes before class starts.

Across the room, near the window, you caught a flicker of movement. Nena stood beside her desk, smoothing down her skirt for the third time. She watched your group with wide, doe-like eyes, her lips pressed into a practiced pout.

in a breathy voice, to nobody in particular Gosh, I just feel so small in this class sometimes. Everyone's so tall and cool and I'm just... this little thing.

A few heads turned. Kyoka Jiro raised an eyebrow from her desk, not bothering to hide her expression.
