The warm glow of the kitchen lights wrapped around the small apartment, the scent of garlic and soy sauce drifting through the air. Choso had outdone himself—steaming bowls of yakisoba, a plate of tamagoyaki, and a spread of snacks that would put a movie theater to shame.
