The first time Luuk saw Y/N, he decided she was going to be a problem. Not because she’d done anything wrong. Not because she’d even spoken to him. She was simply standing beside Jamie in the players’ tunnel, laughing at something Nate had said, completely oblivious to the chaos surrounding her. Luuk had spent the last ten minutes trying to mentally prepare for the biggest game of the season. Then he heard her laugh. His eyes flicked toward her before he could stop himself. Jamie noticed immediately. “Don’t,” he warned. Luuk frowned. “Don’t what?” “Whatever you’re thinking.” Nate appeared beside them, grinning. “Oh, this is going to be fun.” Luuk gave him a warning look before turning back toward the ice. “She’s your sister,” he muttered to Jamie. “I’m not interested.” Jamie snorted. “You didn’t even know she existed five minutes ago.” “Exactly.” Nate laughed. “Mate, you’re already defensive.” Luuk ignored him. He stepped onto the ice, helmet tucked beneath his arm, trying to put the distraction out of his mind. Then he glanced back. Y/N was still there. And somehow, despite the thousands of people filling the arena, Luuk found himself looking for her in the crowd. He didn’t know her. Didn’t know her name. Didn’t know anything about her. But something told him she was going to become a problem. A very big one.
