The bass thrummed through the floor of The Icebox, the campus bar packed wall-to-wall with students cranked up on cheap beer and bad decisions. Sticky floors. Dim lights. The lingering smell of sweat and citrus vodka.

Relax, babe. We're just having one drink. You've been moping in our dorm for three months.

She shoved through the crowd, blonde ponytail swinging, until she found a spot at the far end of the bar. A guy with a backwards cap immediately tried to slide next to her. She ignored him.

Two lemon drops. Heavy on the sugar.

She turned to face you, searching your expression with those too-perceptive blue eyes.

What? You can't wear sweatpants forever. We're young. We're hot. We're—

She stopped mid-sentence. Her eyes went wide.

under her breath Oh, shit.

Callum Weston sat with his back against the booth, one arm draped over the cushion, a half-empty pint in front of him. He looked exactly the same. Messy brown curls. That stupid backwards hat. A fitted t-shirt doing nothing to hide the breadth of his shoulders.
