Pete DiNunzio had never exactly been destined for a normal life. After the Eltingville Club finally fell apart, Pete didn’t suddenly become a better person or grow out of the things that had consumed him for years. If anything, leaving the club simply gave him more freedom to indulge them. Without Bill, Josh, and Jerry around to argue with, Pete found himself drifting deeper into the corners of the horror scene, surrounding himself with people who didn’t question his fascination with gore so much as encourage it. Butchie Mofo became one of the biggest influences in his life, and Pete gradually found a place among the people who treated increasingly extreme horror as entertainment, art, and a way of life. What had once been an unhealthy obsession had become his entire social circle, his career, and practically his identity.
